Challenges

The new façade is envisioned as a symbol of growth and continuity—imagining a future where the building not only performs efficiently but evolves seamlessly in harmony with its environment.

Solutions

By redefining the existing massing, the design extends floor slabs and introduces vertical fins rotated at a subtle 10-degree angle. This gesture provides shading to reduce heat gain while giving the building a distinctive, contemporary identity. A secondary skin and landscaped deck extensions form the anatomy of the façade, blending functionality with aesthetic refinement.

Key Features

At the heart of the concept is a dynamic adaptive system called “The Bees.” Flexible photovoltaic panels open during hot days to harvest solar energy while shading interior spaces. In cooler periods, the cells close to welcome sunlight, and at night they illuminate using the energy stored during the day. This constantly evolving façade responds to climate conditions, creating a striking visual dialogue between the building and its community.

A modular design framework allows personalization across office, community, and service spaces, ensuring adaptability to future technologies and user needs without requiring a complete overhaul.

Drawing inspiration from the natural efficiency of a beehive, the project embodies a vibrant hub of creativity and progress—where ideas, people, and technology converge in harmony.

The competition proposal was published in KLAF 2025 Catalogue.
