Challenges
The project is envisioned as a community hub in Kaparan—one that honors local culture, advances ecological sustainability, and provides a nurturing environment for early childhood education.
Solutions
A gently curved, partial circular layout places a central play area at the heart of the design, creating a focal point for social interaction while ensuring fluid movement between spaces. Modular, lightweight construction methods allow the building to adapt to future needs and expansions. Locally sourced materials such as rammed earth and recycled components reinforce the project’s strong commitment to environmental responsibility.
Key features
Drawing inspiration from local vernacular architecture and materials, the design employs a modular timber frame and a thatched roof to encourage natural cross-ventilation and enhance comfort. The central play area, complemented by vibrant interior finishes and flexible outdoor spaces, fosters sensory exploration, social connection, and creativity among young learners.
Through its circular form, sustainable construction techniques, and thoughtful material choices, the project embodies a vision of resilience and child-centered design—nurturing playful exploration while honoring both community and environment
